This needs to happen. LSU needs someone to focus on just LSU. Right the ship that F King and Tate were sinking.

Have a president for only LSU’s flagship campus in BR. Enough DEI nonsense and elevate the flagship campus

He never adjusted holistic admissions aka DEI. I liked some things Tate did but one of his biggest agendas was simply boosting selective minorities….never correcting F King keeps the ship sinking.

I’ll accept the good but you should accept the bad as well. LSU has changed dramatically in 10 years and it’s not for the better.

People always say this with no proof.

Soft bigotry of low expectations.

He wasn't a trainwreck, therefore he was "good"

The LSU that people are bitching about daily on this site is Tate's LSU.

This is an obvious effort to weaken LSU as the flagship university and try to help the other directional colleges.

Everyone has penis envy and tries to take shots at big brother every chance they get.

I believe that's how it used to be, correct?

It makes sense to have an overall chancellor, and a campus president.

I don't recall any shootings on campus in the past. Tate owns this current version of LSU.

Would he have shut down Unity Field?

FWIW after a really angry letter I sent to some department I actually got a response from someone in the admissions office as well as an offer to call and speak candidly which I took.

Per him, and I have no reason to believe this was inaccurate information, the admission standard debacle were going through right now is all motivated by money far more than DEI. It's a push to get bodies on campus and up the bottom line..doesn't matter what color those bodies are or if there is a place to put them...just that they get there and pay tuition for some amount of time.

Now comes the part where Im making assumptions... this was not told me. The push to get warm paying bodies on campus has resulted in bodies who wouldn't normally get in or consider applying even.... so it's shifted the demographic and as unpopular as DEI has become I think it's easier for a university to market DEI initiatives than... just pack the place so we can make more $$$$

How does it weaken LSU to have a dedicated Chancellor for the BR campus?

I guess the orientation week videos are your kind of thing. How about the 2022 Honors college sista brawl? Game day shootings and having students invite or allow the trash from north BR to come to game day activities?

As for academics:
DEI and Pell Grant fixations for incoming freshman, not requiring ACT or SAT as a check on grade inflation at High schools, working on a study for Southern funding while employed by LSU, hiring person to run Graduate school who also ends up working on study on funding for Southern.

If you compare voluntary ACT scores to prior mandatory scores and then within 2 years you also start comparing voluntary super scores to prior mandatory and voluntary true composite scores to claim improved freshman classes you might just be full of shite.

When only 47% of 2024 Freshman class submits ACT/SAT scores even though testing is mandatory for in state students to receive TOPs you might just be full of shite (LSU still allows for those submitting scores for TOPs to withhold those scores for admissions and scholarships controlled by the school).

This country, and especially the South, is starving for a merit based and non "woke" college experience.

If LSU became the opposite of what most colleges are today, they would not be able to accept all of the students from around the country that would be begging to come.

Similar to how SEC schools were deluged with northern students during Covid to escape the insanity up north.

This whole "we did it for the money" is bullshite. There is a path to money, and this ain't it.

I'm not saying I believe he was 100% truthful with me or that it's 100% accurate. I think there is some truth to both.

Think about this though...if it was 100% DEI they would hold attendance numbers in place and not admit people past what they could accommodate... you'd see whitey and asians getting denial letters, but that's not happening here.. EVERYONE IS GETTING IN. I think it being about the money is at least a majority the case...no less sad mind you

And the money, lack of standardized testing, and promoting a broken culture it took to get that DEI.

The 2025 freshman class demographics have to be shocking to even the higher ups at LSU to have stopped the usual September self celebration of the % of blacks in freshman class like has been done in the 3 prior Septembers. It’s obviously higher than even last fall’s record unless they went out of the way to bring in the broken culture and not just blacks for 2025. Tate’s last FU before departing.
