The Pelicans are moving soon right?

Extremely small market, with incompetent leaders and no hope for the future.
Hell, I’ve hated the name, logo, and colors since they chose them when I was 13. It’s been nothing but pain as a fan since then. I’d almost welcome a move. Literally the most positive memory as a fan is one playoff series sweep over the Blazers.
Them moving may be a mercy to us fans at this point. Frick Gayle and every dumbass that’s been a position of leadership with this franchise since the beginning.
And fricking Pelicans??? You have Mardi Gras in your city, all that culture, and you choose the PELICANS???

My point is that I’m 26 now and this team has one fricking playoff series to show for it since I was 13. The shitty branding was just evidence this franchise was never trying to be anything but mediocre at best.

If the NBA really cared about race, New Orleans would be a prime spot for a team and they wouldn’t leave. Financially, the move to somewhere else would make sense.

Pelicans is a fine name. It fits the state. The color scheme is where they clearly missed an opportunity. Instead of differentiating the team from every other NBA franchise (thanks to the Jazz abandoning their original colors), you go with red, blue, and gold as your colors.

I've always thought that they should be the Snappers! Have a 30 year old alligator snapper, and name it Boudreaux, perhaps 2, a male and female, she'll be Clotille or Marie'. We could walk them across the court. Feed them live perch, the crowd would love it. And they're tough and aggressive, and live long. Would be fun, better than the Pelicans.

This is freaking retarded if you actually believe that. Like legit retarded. The Oklahoma City Thunder just won a championship and have consistently had good to great teams since it's inception with arguably the worst branding/logo/useless name in all of pro sports.
The Pels don't suck because their logo is a state bird dumbass. That has literally nothing to do with it. It's because they have one of the three worst owners in basketball, have consistently hired bad GM's and coaches and have star players that bust or demand trades. Not freaking branding.
