Pair his offense with a great defense and a Heupel coached LSU would be tough to beat.

Sounds like his agent is trying to get him a raise

His agent just saw they're saving $2MM a year on a baseball coach and wants to get it moved over to the football coach.

Heupel just signed an extension in August this year after having another raise and extension in 2023…..If he’s using this as leverage he may get the “we are tired of playing this game” response.

BTW. Even with his two extensions (2023 and 2025) we still had BK signed (2031) for longer than Josh is signed for.(2030) #thanksScott.

Why? LSU would have a badass offense pretty much every year under Heupel.

Heupel is borderline..... as in i could borderline believe LSU would be able to pull a coach of this caliber.

He would be an absolute grandslam, he has already rebuilt Tenn under worse circumstances and is doing it under NIL. But why would he want to come here and deal with this? Tenn isn't broke, not like they can't buy a roster too.

But make no mistake about it, he is in the absolute top SSS ranked tier of coaches

Could we do much worse than him? Well of course! He's not terrible, and I could sleep at night knowing he'd at least keep us from falling further, but he wouldn't be my first, second, or even third choice.

Hiring Heupel away from Tennessee after they lost Vitelo, whom we beat consistently in baseball, would be epic, though.
