LSU job from an outside perspective

Lets be real here.
You just fired a coach that had a pretty high winning percentage over 3 years.
You just fired your AD.
You've got some serious meddling going on. The governor of the state is involved...
There are some deep false beliefs about what your program currently is. Thinking that someone would leave a highly successful program on an upward trajectory because 'WE'RE LSU' is not the flex it used to be.

Welp I guess that settles it then. Shut the football program down and just stick with baseball. Nobody wants us. Guess they’d rather go to Auburns dumpster fire program

In the end. LSU is a school that will pay 10 million a year for a coach, sits in a very fertile area for recruiting, and has the funds to be competitive in the portal.

No one said this. But we are delusional in thinking that we are so attractive that a big name coach is going to drop everything and come to Baton Rouge.

a "figurehead' who said judge me in year 3 (i was willing to give him 3 years of recruiting cycles so technically year 4). not only was 3, by his metrics a bad year, year 4 with his BEST roster and in his words a CHAMPIONSHIP ROSTER, was quickly spiraling downward. he just wasn't it. period. and i backed him for as long as i could. the spoiled comment was step 1, A&M at home in embarrassing fashion was it.

i say this all the time, LSU has made the playoffs 1 time since its expansion to 4, and now 12 teams. but we are still the lone flagship university in a very talent rich state. BK/LSU/Boosters just proved we can get a top 5 recruiting class and the top portal class. people come to LSU, it will just take the right coach to blend. 3 coaches have won titles in the last 22 years. its still a very attractive job that pays well. the "meddling governor" even said $100M isn't off the table, but the buyout will not fall on taxpayers, which i don't think ever has. even the BOS confirmed that.
i'm not sold on some big name, established guy. we just did that. i'm also not sold on someone with zero HC experience, but i'm not the one making that decision. LSU will likely hire someone pretty solid, because its in fact LSU.
