Has anyone ever terribly flamed out for as long as Lincoln Riley?

He has been on perhaps the most demonstrable downward spiral over a 4 year tenure of all time and has greatly benefited from the fact that nobody gives much of a frick about USC football. His play calling has been made. His weaknesses glare.

Never forget that he was the top pick for the LSU job by board “experts “.

What he did at Oklahoma saying was legitimately impressive. It’s clear he’s not a grinder though and wanted to go to a less intense job.

USC is a terrible fit. He comes back east he’ll be fine he’s a great coach.

USC in the Pac-12 was a perfect fit.

The terrible fit is Lincoln Riley. I don't think he's adjusted to the NIL/transfer portal era.

Yeah he did. Guy goes from being the hottest coach on the market in 2016, flaming out at Texas, then gets fired by Florida Atlantic… fricking hell.

Last I remember he was an analyst. Couldn’t even get a coaching gig.

Herman was at the Houston game today celebrating the 10 yr anniversary of his 2015 Houston team. Was able to attend because he’s unemployed. Got booed. He’s only 50.

Okay, never mind. Riley is admonished. Aside from being an assistant at Penn State, this is as close as you get to being on the sex offender registry just by coaching a college football team.

My contrarian take is that Tom Herman would have won big at LSU.

That’s what I’m saying a Texas guy isn’t a fit in Southern Cali.

I don’t tbink his NIL budget out there is all that great but he still recruits HS very well currently has the #1 class

Lincoln Riley’s buyout after this year is only $67 million. Looking at schedule the rest of the way he probably finishes 9-3 to 8-4 at the worst. It just feels like he’ll be there a few more years, but nothing really happens. Just kind of 9-3 at best.

Bert from Wisconsin to Arkansas was pretty bad. Him and Illinois seem to be good for each other

Is he just a younger Brian Kelly?

He does have more of a offensive mind then BK

But is his personality much different ?
