I’ve noticed some pretty cringe virtue signaling around this SNAP situation lately

People posting on their social media feed, about how if someone needs food they are they have food at their house.

But to take the cake, someone actually set out a container during trick or treat in our suburb with random food items (Mac N cheese, bread, peanut butter, canned food, chips, trail mix, etc) with a sign reading “during these unprecedented times, for any family in need, we are here to help”

An hour in and thankfully the container/bin was still completely full and no one disrespected themselves to the point of awarding their pathetic attention seeking behavior.

I can assure these people that a time existed without SNAP or EBT, so "unprecedented" might be a bit strong.

I'd have snatched up the mac and cheese. Better than crappy candy.

I’m still trying to figure out why it’s my responsibility to pay for food and healthcare for other people when I have to pay for all of that shite for my family.

I've seen it making the rounds in Southern city forums on Reddit.

Let me suggest a slight correction:

You are not only paying for the food/healthcare but also for the government apparatus to supply them both.

I think it's dumb, don't get me wrong... but I thought we wanted our fellow man to help out those on SNAP and what not instead of them having to depend on SNAP.

But obviously in not such a virtue signaling "look at me" manner.

because there will always be an impoverished class. personally i'm 100% fine helping those folks get fed, housed, etc. is it ripe with corruption? of course, same as any program that distributes billions of dollars
how about being grateful that you're in a position to be able to provide for your family vs. bitching about how your taxes might go to help someone

Here is why I call you a colossal dumb arse. You are in a position to provide for your family because you try. You should realize that those that do not try will take away your ability to provide for your family. It has happened over and over in history. Great empires have crumbled over the same ideals. You either learn from history while avoiding the same disasters or suffer the same fate. It is crazy how people like you cannot comprehend this.

And why don’t you frick right off about stealing my work product at gun point and giving it somebody else who can’t be bothered with taking care of themselves. Or apparently even trying in a lot of these cases.

All while still overspending and putting us in debt that guess what - isn’t going to be paid by the entitled class with their hands out.

Douchebag.

If I don’t pay my taxes that come and take me away at gunpoint. It’s the monopoly of power held by the government.

This isn’t that hard.

Typical virtue signaling by white libs. They will donate a few cans of food just to make them feel superior, but yet they look down on the folks that they are 'helping' and do not realize that a portion of SNAP/EBT recipients are going to be pissed off getting cut off from sweets and high end items instead of sustenance items such as rice and beans.

Freaking stupid MOFOs on either side of the lib spectrum - from the virtual signaling disconnected racist lily white libs to the folks dependent on government. It is still a plantation mentality on the part of white libs.
