If they are picking a new AD quickly, why wouldn't the new AD, that is to be saddled with this football coach, be in charge once installed?

Personally like Verge, but if he is doing this he may want an exit plan set up after the first year of his hire.

Talk about putting the cart before the horse. I assume it’s just so Landry can have more input in the process. Big mistake IMO. Watch us end up with Verge as permanent AD and somebody like Sumrall or James Franklin, which will excite nobody.
