They cannot. Unless you are advocating for some billionaire or Trump's personal bank acct to fund all on the govts tit that refuse to work and illegals, even some narco terrorists, cartel, got on govt funding.
Trump doesn't take his $400,000 salary, that wouldn't pay the bill.
Let's not forget how we got here. The democrats want to die on the hill of continuing to pay illegals, narco terrorists with healthcare when Americans cannot afford ObamaCare.
ObamaCare was designed to fail by this time frame. It was a facade like everything else Obama/Biden are.
We have some horrid establishment republicans, and they should all not be getting paychecks during a shutdown. But this is all about democrats putting illegals before Americans-once again.

For a party supposedly so concerned about "democracy", the democrats should realize the citizens elected republicans to the presidency, house and senate and if they really care about the will of the people, they should be the ones making concessions to the republicans, not the other way around.
You really cant claim to care about democracy while at the same time fighting at every step against the government that the people elected.

(D)s are truly wanting this shutdown news to get really bad, to overshadow the really evil info coming out about J6, spying on (R)s, and Obamacare (it's Affodable!) costs to the American people. Eta: Almost forgot, Biden and the auto-pen. So much at issue they want to go away.

Trump should be having nightly presidiential addresses from the WH telling the American people that the Repubs have voted 13 times to change NOTHING with the budget, just keep things going, and its the Dems who have shutdown the govt to fund insurance for illegals... Could it ? Not taking the argument about if truly needed day one or the issue that who truly deserves it or even if throwing the treats out for Hallows Eve but I believe unless certain criteria is met then that “money “ cannot be used. Instead of all the shenanigans of the left this vote could be done and over with within minutes by pushing a simple button

My 78 year old mother is on a fixed income of her dead husband’s veteran disability. She has not received that payment, and I am having to help her with her expenses until the government opens.
People like you, without fail, prefer to put the leeches on SNAP in front of people like my mother, and you always will. Just like Dems are putting illegal immigrants in front of the American people.
