Pulled a Fred Sanford joke yesterday

Went to a buffet for lunch and the owner works all the tables. Group of black men sat down next to us, and one ole boy that was NFL edge rusher size went to make his plate while the owner talked to us. When he walked by the owner said “how’s it goin bigun” and I immediately followed it up with “what did you just call him!?”. Black folks at the table lost their shite laughing. Don’t think that opportunity ever comes around again.

I had drinks with Redd Foxx in Vegas ( late 80’s) I was married to my first wife we were both early 20’s He was doing a comedy show and was hilarious. We were sitting up front and he was all in with sexual jokes with me and her. After the show a security guard come got us and said Mr Foxx would like to meet us The casino had a private bar in the back. He was with an Asian woman I’m not sure if it was his wife or girlfriend. He told that the IRS had taken everything he owned and he had to go back to work. He was really cool

I work with a guy who had family members that saw Redd at a show many years ago, I assume in Vegas. They saw him after the show playing cards (not at a table) and wanted to get his autograph. As they approached, security stepped in, but Redd called the guards off. He greeted them and signed for them. I think that's cool. Don Rickles had the same attitude of thanking the people that came to his shows.
I remember the "Entertainment Tonight" episode when they interviewed Redd as the IRS was cleaning out his house in an asset seizure. "They're taking everything" he bemoaned.
He was so good that, unfortunately, when he had the heart attack on the set of "Royal Family", everyone thought he was doing his "I'm comin' to see you, Elizabeth" routine.
