Everyone realizes that none of this political showboating is going to matter……right?

Nothing going on now is going to change this coaching search. If we have a guy that wants to be here, he’s not going to say, “yes but the only thing making me turn it down is what your governor said a couple months ago”
We really do have some dumbass people here lol

You're nuts. These guys have egos. No one wants to be the guy who took a job at the loony bin.

That’s fine. Let him talk. The point is it doesn’t matter lol

Whether it does or not, Landry still needs to shut the frick up.
He is a retarded person and no amount of involvement with LSU athletics is acceptable. He can do everything he’s attention whoring about privately if he actually cared (he doesn’t). But no, Jeff just wants to score political points because he’s mad LSU athletics has and spends so much money.
Landry is an enormous loser.

And you’re a dumbass if you don’t see how the governor meddling and being a dumbshit to this level doesn’t throw up some red flags to potential candidates
Posted on 10/30/25 at 4:35 pm to TackySweater
That doesn't mean the posturing isn't retarded. It's still Louisiana shooting itself in the foot like always.

Landry saved LSU from the wreckage of another Scott hire.

It absolutely will have an impact. Now whether money and opportunity can overcome that impact remains to be seen.
Just the mere fact that you have two concurrent search committees being formed (while neither knew about the other) - one by the AD and BoS, one by the governor and a few donors, politicians, and supervisors. Clearly there's dysfunction.
The governor has pretty much neutered your AD to the point where there's no way he can effectively lead, while your BoS is standing firm and not firing him.
Clearly sides are being drawn and it won't end well for either

He appoints BOS members.
The BOS appoints the president.
The president is the AD’s boss.
It’s a state university. If it defaults on anything, the state is on the hook for the debt.
What is so hard to understand for The Rant?

It might not bother the OP, but it gives a 3 time National Champion HC concerns.
Landry fired back at Urban Meyer
quote:
"If this really took place in the governor's mansion, and if the governor and other non-football people make a decision, as a coach, that's an alarm," Meyer said. "The alarm just went off, saying, 'Wait a minute. Really? Did that really happen?' Because first of all, we don't know until it comes out."
Meyer said after he read the report, he called one of his connected political friends in Louisiana who confirmed Landry's involvement.
"I hate to speculate, but in case that happened to me, that changes the game," Meyer said. "If you're now going to interview for the head coaching position at LSU, do you meet with the Governor?"
Landry fired back at Urban Meyer
quote:
"Let me be clear, coach Urban Meyer, the Governor's only involvement is when the taxpayers of our State are concerned," Landry said. "Maybe you don't care about the public's money, but I do!"

I would at least wait to see who the hire is before I make a statement like that. My approach is wait and see. The result will be the deciding factor not anyone’s feelings including yours or mine.

I tend to agree, but disappointed and shocked by how uninformed and unaware Landry is coming across. I voted for him because I don’t vote for democrats ever, but what in the actual frick man? Zero positives from his rants. KEEP IT IN-HOUSE!!!
