“I don’t think he wanted to debate is my point. He didn’t want that debate,” Harris said — even though the 46th president was first to publicly call for the mono-a-mono showdown in a May 15 post on X that year.
“It’s like any competition,” she added. “If it’s sports, you gotta want it, right? If you don’t want to be in the competition, it will absolutely have an impact on your performance. And I don’t think he — I’m pretty sure he did not want to debate. … We had conversations about it.”

It was very unprecedented to have a presidential debate that early. Biden was basically forced to do it IMO as a setup to oust him from the race.

I believe her. Cause I am certain the power brokers saw the data. The data said he would lose. So the power brokers wanted to know for certain earlier rather than later. This would enable them to be able to select a better candidate in a pre determined mini convention.

I am unsure.
While he will say he was mentally on top of his game, somewhere in that shriveled evil soul I think he actually suspected he was declining.
So I can see him not wanting to debate but he would still lie and say he wanted to debate.
Of course I can see him being in total denial as well. He doesn't strike me as being very self aware.
So I can also see him stupidly wanting to debate.
This woman lies constantly and I don't believe a word she says. In fact I totally ignore anything she says.
That is the only take away from this. Ignore anything she said because she is useless and constantly lies.

Trump and the republicans should have never agreed to do that debate so early. It was obvious it was just a final test to determine if they should pull the plug on biden and still some at least some time left for his replacement to campaign. Trump would have went over 400 electoral college votes if that debate occurred in october. Trump did the democrats a massive favor by debating so early.

I really think that their internal polls (not the ones published) said that he was gonna lose. Therefore, something risky like debating was worth a try. Only a surprisingly good performance by Biden could change the numbers.
