There is ZERO reason for this to be a federal government expenditure.

This is astounding the amount of $ being given to people.

Per Grok

**41.7 million** people in the U.S. receive SNAP benefits each month (average for FY 2024, or about 12.3% of the population).

Damn, the whiter the state is the less money get's blown on this.

Meh, I'm sure that's just a pure coincidence.

“Tax the rich” (aka anyone making a living) to pay for MOAR subsidies.

Now we just need to determine how many of those people are citizens and tell the rest to get fricked... while we wait for ICE to haul them out to a repatriation flight.

Welfare states, including my own, need to pony up. This shouldn't be a FedGov issue

Seems like this would be pretty easy to do with digital record keeping

Pay the U.S. citizens and cut everyone else off

Helping people with food benefits is probably a better way to spend money than some of the other BS programs we spend billions on.

Just imagine the crime wave we would have if we didn't provide food benefits to people in need. Hungry people are not good PR for those in power.

Just need to see if we can clean up the fraud and abuse.

Problems with this

1) the fraud and abuse of the cards. Multiple instances of the hold rats selling their card for cash money

2) the types of food that they are buying. The type of food should be limited to government cheese, bread, meat, milk etc.

3) the grocery store chain lobby is complicit in this. These benefits should be limited on purchasing power

That's where I am. How many more needy Americans could be helped, or assisted in more beneficial ways than a simple monthly handout, if we cut off the able-bodied freeloaders and illegals?

I look at it like the quantum leap taken by the advent of the fuel injector over the carburetor. If it's 75% more efficient, then you've effectively quadrupled the remaining oil supply by virtue of needing less of it.

They should reward people for working. Our incentive structure is fricked. Work and make $30k/year with no benefits or don’t work and make $45k/year in government handouts?

I agree completely. I also think that handling this task at the federal level is half of the problem.

Push it back to the states, and let the marketplace of ideas run its course across 50 different models.

This shite has to end. Start by cutting off all payments to non-citizens.
