First, the AD has been playing big-time politics in an effort to sabotage the governor's choice for LSU's next president, which will happen next week.
And second, a certain agent has been more or less openly lobbying members of the LSU Board of Supervisors in an effort to drum up demand for a certain coach to get a contract that's even more obscene than the one Brian Kelly got. And without a president in place, there was no counterbalance to that.
So before you wet your pants about all the news that was made this afternoon you might consider the things happening behind the scenes which brought it about.
