They wouldn't pass over an elite de prospect because of it.
Elite teams get pass rushers at any opportunity. The issue is we were void of talent we had to get fuaga for the OL rather than risk it for Jared verse.

Phenomenal player but that’s too much money to pay any player who isn’t a QB and there are only maybe 10 or so QBs worth that coin.

Probably one of a few non-QB worth it. When healthy dude is an absolute game changer in the Aaron Donald mold. 4th year, only 25 already 34.5 sacks in 46 games

The last player to be worth something like that on the D is Lawrence Taylor...ONLY because the NFL hadn't figured out the Left Tackle is kinda important in making your Marinos and Montana's go...and so Taylor was allowed to run wild for YEARS...until the NFL realized you needed an athlete to block freak athletes, not stiff fat slobs.

It’s less about him as a player and more about the impact paying him has on the rest of the salary cap.
For Detroit, they have a style and he embodies it. So…this is as much about solidifying culture as it is just pressures and sacks.
