Even if true… by your own admission, a new hire (Saban) fixed it.
Even if broken - which it’s not - Why can’t Saban or a some other hire fix it again?
The LSU football program is strong. Just need to make a good hire that will work his arse off.

Politics was involved with the Woodward hire.
Boosters have always wanted their own guy and rarely agree on anything.
Wilson is not going to be hired.

We are mediocre right now and been spending a ton of money. Getting the right coach means everything. Have to nail this hire or we’ll be a 7-8 win team going to Texas Bowls for the foreseeable future.

We aren’t hiring Wilson as HC lol he’s the perfect interim guy to lead in state recruiting conversations and motivate the team. He knows his role and he loves LSU more than anything (something BK never gave af about)

LSU is owned by the state and the board is appointed by the governor. Of course the governor is gonna be involved. I'm not saying I like it but that's facts
