We are the top job of those open

The only obstruction at this point is the rumor that Woodward could be gone and the Governor is playing puppet master

Disagree.

Strip away Saban and you have another typical up and down high end SEC team in a dogfight with Auburn for every player.

Texas is always a political mess and comes with unrealistic expectations every year. There's a reason it's so hard to win big there.

OSU & UGA are the only two jobs I would put on LSUs level. All three have complete buy in from the state, fertile recruiting, elite facilities/stadiums, NIL budgets, alumni base, and are in one of the 2 right conferences (among other things).

Nobody can say their past 3 coaches won a natty, and 2 of them were Les Miles and Ed Orgeron, neither of which really went on to do much of anything (ie, not elite coaches). LSU is a football factory and everyone knows it.

Agree top 3, but disagree on which 3.

I feel like it’s only top 3 for guys like Napier and Sumrall. For guys like Kiffin I can’t understand why he would have any interest in LSU seeing as Ole Miss will likely match whatever LSU throws out there, and that the winningest coach in college football just failed massively. He has a better shot at winning a natty at Ole Miss.

And the 3 coaches before him all won a national championship

Texas really does not seem like a great job.
It should be. In every way, it should be.

It just isn’t.

LSU TOP 3 JOB

Gonna be a barge load of disappointed fans around here when LSU hires an "up and coming" coach in order to save money. But in the end the new guy will be just like Napier leaving ULL for FL.... over his head.

hopefully this will be the dumbest thing i read today on the rant but i see a lot of stupid shite posted.

How can you say a program that has never made the sec title game or really won anything since the 50's is a better place for a coach to win a national title than LSU? Resources, tradition, and having 3 NT this century say that your comment is pretty dumb.

I don't know what # LSU is, but it would be higher if Baton Rouge wasn't such a hell hole. There's something to be said for raising a family in a typical college town verses Baton Rouge. It's amazing we are ranked where we are, which just shows how good the job itself is.

Ohio state? Sure. Alabama and Texas are blue bloods with great history but they also have in conference schools and other P4 schools (Auburn, A&M, TCU, Texas tech, etc) competing with them for players. LSU doesn’t have that. That right there would put LSU over the top imo.

I think everyone would consider Texas to be a top 5 job but they’ve won 1 national championship since the 1970s.

The LSU coach will live in a $5MM home, on 5 acres of land, surrounded by beautiful live oak trees, in the lap of luxury. He'll be completely isolated from the filth of the city.

He will dine at the finest restaurants, and be driven 45 minutes away to New Orleans whenever he wants to dine at Michelin star restaurants.

He'll have the finest outdoor activities of hunting or fishing than most anywhere in the U.S., if that's his thing. And golf at some fine courses anytime he wants, when he's not jet setting around the world with his fortune in the offseason.

And he won't have to deal with the filthy meddling boosters that completely ruined the UT program. So there's that....

Look at Indiana, it’s now a more attractive job than LSU. You can live in Bloomington and have the same level of pay/on field success, NIL has changed everything

Depends on how you define “top”…top place for salary, longevity, comfort/less stress, a high percentage winning record…or top shot at a Natty?

I'll just say this. Interview 50 college football experts, that make a living covering college football. I bet you won't find a single one that will say Indiana is a more attractive job than LSU. You are literally the only person that I've ever seen say it, real talk.

NIL hasn't changed it that much. Find me one.
