Zion Williamson has played in approximately 45.3% of his possible regular-season games through his first six NBA seasons (playing 214 games out of about 472 possible)
quote:. Edwards a year later and has almost doubled Zion games played. What an absolute joke. Trade him
Anthony Edwards started his NBA career in the 2020–21 season after being selected 1st overall in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Ti As of the start of the 2025–26 season, Anthony Edwards has played 383 regular-season NBA games.

Time to trade him
He could be a complementary piece on a contender
Might as well blow it up
Green will be fired by Thanksgiving

Let’s see if we can Daniels and our unprotected pick back from the Hawks. That’s about what Zion will fetch.

LeBron at 71 games per season over 22 years and Zion at 31 over 3!

People thinking he will somehow change are setting themselves up for disappointment.

somebody put a stat up at some point last year that Jaxson Hayes played more games as pelican than Zion and he'd been gone years. Not sure if that still true, but its astounding

I'd do that...IMMEDIATELY...doubt the Hawks would though.

I’ve always been Zion’s biggest supporter and hated the thought of him in another jersey but him missing game 3 of this season when we really needed a win for a bruise really rubbed me the wrong way. Might need to call the Hawks and see if we can get our 1st and other assets back. They would probably be interested in pairing Zion and Trae. Injuries and bad coaching hires marred his time here, also would have been cool if we had AD when Zion got here but it’s nobodies fault he wanted to suck on Lebron.

I don't understand how he misses this game. It's the 3rd game of the year. A home game after being off two days. Maybe in a month or so after he plays 10-15 straight, I'd give him a day off. But he has to play, unless he's seriously hurt. He'll never get better if he doesn't learn how to manage pain and play through it. Nobody ever gets through a season 100%.
I fully expect him to play 60 games this year at least. We are a .500 team when he plays. Without him, that drops closer to .300. We just can't trade him until there is a market. We have to get value back. That's why Dumars kept him and rolled the dice on him getting some value back. I never expected he'd be here long term, especially with an extension looming..

Yeah, and I mean, he must actually be hurt right? You can’t really fake an injury with the medical staff and all. But he’s gotta play through that shite, put some bubble wrap on it and play. When they first marked him questionable I defended him cause I thought no way he would sit out in a winnable game due to a bruise. Getting beat by 30 by a team on the 2nd night of a back to back while at home WHILE your superstar sits out due to a bruise is brutal.

It’s still true per Basketball Reference. Hayes logged 241 games with the Pelicans, Zion has logged 216. There is a reasonable chance that Zion plays 25 more games to pass him up this year.
Also noteworthy - Zion is 6 games from passing Alexis Ajinca’s 222 games played with the Pelicans.

Just from his draft class out of 60 players drafted. He is 30th in games played. 19th in minutes played.
Just random stuff since we are here.
Player with most games played: Colby White.
Player with most minutes played: RJ Barrett. RJ is also first in points and third in rebounds.
Number of players who didn’t log a single minute: 2.

I really wanted Coby White to be a Pelican. He went 1 pick before Hayes.

If I showed up for work 45.3% of the time, I would've been fired years ago.
And I'm self-employed.

Given his lack of availability, the Pels would have been better off picking about 12 different guys at number 1 in 2019. It's crazy to say, but it's true. That's how bad his tenure has been here.

I understood why they took Zion. I personally didn’t want Zion or Ja, I would have preferred trading the pick for potential franchise changing picks / players.
Yes I know the GM and coaches would have still failed the franchise.
