What was Kelly good at?

Lost every opener save one that ended up being unimpressive
Couldn’t evaluate talent
Couldn’t hire decent assistants
Wasn’t a defensive coach - historically bad defense
Decent offenses that had little running game and struggled in the red zone except for JD’s Heisman
Losing record vs ranked teams
Poor line play
Poor DB play
Recruiting was only average
Team was disorganized and undisciplined
Team was weak
He was terrible with media and fans
Never won a championship
What was he actually good at?
We said if Orgeron and Miles could win titles at LSU, then anyone could. By every respect, Kelly was worse than both of them. We paid tens of millions for one of the worst coaches I’ve ever seen.

Beside that, he was pretty good.

He righted the ship. I give credit for that.

Yelling at assistants with a red face, banging on tables, having a fake southern accent, and losing openers and every big game. Truly a man who was a jack of all trades

He did beat an Saban coached Alabama that first year. That was it as far as big games.

Saying retarded shite in the media was his most consistent quality.

Not golfing judging by his reported scores.

Block punt for 2 but not good enough for a td

Dancing on recruits and slamming tables with his bionic fist

I just hope whoever we hire can fully own at least one side of the ball. If he’s an offense guy, I want him running the offense and calling the plays. If he’s a defense guy, I want him to run his defense fully. Tired of this CEO / delegate everything type of style. We haven’t had a head coach fully own one side of the ball since Saban.
