T-Bob story about the firing of Moffitt

So I was listening to a pod with T-Bob and a few other media members today. T-Bob told the story of how Moffitt was fired.
When Orgeron was let go, Saban called Moffitt and offered him the job to be Bama’s S&C coach. Moffitt told him no because Woodward guaranteed Moffitt he would keep his job through the coaching change. Kelly came in and immediately fired him.
Moffitt was the most loved coach here for decades by actual players. He was the guy the players were with 365 days a year. So many ex LSU players have been congratulating him because they know how dirty he was done by Woodward and Kelly. Players attribute the LSU culture to him. He was the primary driver of it.
Here is the clip. Start it at 7:40 to hear it all

I wouldn’t be opposed to the next guy hiring Moffitt back. Only issue, is some of his last few teams were getting shoved around pretty good. Seemed like he lost a step his last couple of years. Maybe getting fired was a wake up call again, seems like he has Aggie trending pretty well in that department.

I can't argue with an insider. But, from the outside it looked like strength and conditioning dramatically fell off after 2019. No one had much of a problem with Moffitt's departure when Kelly came in.

Honestly, I doubt he would take the job back as much as it hurts to say. For me it’s not that I think they need to hire back just kind of an interesting look into the culture brought by Kelly. I hope we are able to bring guys in that love LSU and bring that culture back

If Saban wanted Moffett that would have happened anyway
if Moffett had the team 365 days a year in 2020 and 2021 then you can't absolve him of some of the dysfunction of those two seasons

I agree Moffit was the man but lost a little on the back end with us. He’s had a revival at aTm but I’d rather bring in some new blood. Time for another full revamp.

Sooo many people here wanted him gone when Kelly came in. Revisionist history.

Riiiiiight. Im sure moffit decided, after the most successful season in LSU history, to drastically change his methods and go easy on the kids.
Yep, gotta be it.........genius

Eh, you spend decades at a place that’s your home. That was a personal decision not a professional one for Moffitt. And yeah we can acknowledge the falloff but I don’t think that comes down to just strength and conditioning. The whole system had fallen apart.

You are correct a lot of people wanted him gone. I was one of the people upset with the firing of him and other long time lsu coaches. But it’s also okay for people to change their opinion on the firing as they get more info.

This.
It was talked about ad nauseam on here for years about he had fallen behind and wasnt up to date with current standards.

It did, because the S&C coach can only have as much authority as the Head Coach gives him. O was busy chasing tail and didn’t give a shite if his players were training properly.

Maybe we should stop recruiting soft players and coaching kids to be soft. That'd be a start.

Sick of Tommy and his look at me shite during this
I get it you feel wronged. Kelly was well within his rights to bring in his own guy though. Move on.

Why are people acting like the end of Moffitt's tenure here was a success? It was a lot of the same thing we're seeing now. Players were soft and not physically ready to play against top SEC competition.
Him being away from it for a couple years and having a change of scenery probably helped reignite that fire in him. That's awesome, but there's no need to rewrite history and act like his whole time here was like what we saw on Saturday night.

The truth is Moffitt had probably gotten complacent by 2019. It happens. Strength and conditioning had fallen off a little bit. Once he was told to pack up it probably lit a fire under him. We’ll see if A&M can finish it out.

Yep. Only reason people care is because we got embarrassed.
