What's next? Will the defense request he be allowed to have his favorite Starbucks beverage delivered to the stand? How about allowing his furry friend sit next to him and hold his hand.

"Tyler Robinson will be allowed to wear civilian clothing during all of his upcoming court hearings.

But 4th District Judge Tony Graf says he must still be in shackles for safety reasons. The judge made his rulings Monday afternoon.

Robinson's defense team wants their client to be able to appear in court in his regular clothes and without shackles or handcuffs because of the intense media coverage his case is receiving. His attorneys fear images of him in a jail jumpsuit or a "safety smock" and in shackles could prejudice a potential jury pool."

I don’t have an issue with him being in street clothes, especially if he remains shackled.

Takes a possible appeal off the table.

Same. He's entitled to a presumption of innocence

This is almost universally approved as he still has Constitutional rights. It's not "coddling" and I wouldn't get worked up over it.

That wack job that ran over the Christmas parade was allowed to wear street clothes.

Is it going to somehow make him less guilty?

This is not coddling. Very normal ruling.

Will he be allowed to jut his jaw out and try to become Luigi Mangione?

i have no problem with him being allowed to be in street clothes. that's pretty common and seems to be perfectly in alignment with the presumption of innocence.

Oh, right. As if you can find a single potential Juror in all of Utah that hasn't heard of Charlie Kirk's murder and hasn't already made up their mind.

Think they can track down 12 off-gridders who are completely ignorant to today's happenings? Hint, you can't. Off-grid folks are more in touch with current events and reality than your average MSNBC viewer.

I don't think he should have to be shackled either. He's not a physical threat to anyone; just look at him. Showing up to court shackled is extremely prejudicial and should only be applied to those who have previously displayed the inability to remain civil during the trial.

Why don’t you leave the lawyering to those that are actually lawyers?

The shackles are consistent with anyone else facing similar charges in Utah.

I agree with your point though.

Him being shackled is more than enough.

That was an SUV that did that, and yes, it stayed in its original paint for trial.

1/2 this board thinks he's a patsy so there shouldn't be much outrage.
