Just 2 years ago for his last season (and in the age of NIL that he complains about), he went 12-2, 8-0 in the SEC, won the SECCG, and lost in OT in the semifinals against the eventual national champions. Its not like he was declining.

He was pretty pissed that James Franklin was done dirty by Penn State. May feel exactly the same way about Brian Kelly being fired mid-season as well. And LSU thinks he would just waltz on into that kind of situation.

Money doesn't motivate Saban at this point, he is basically a Billionaire due to all the mercedes / infiniti / ferrari car dealerships he owns.. We just have to hope he wants to make amends for leaving us, he always says leaving LSU was his only regret/mistake

He literally just shut down all coaching rumors on live tv. He has a sweet gig now and is 74 with his birthday coming up. He stated that his last year was more rough and demanding due to the inability to get the support coaches to commit to him so he had to do more hands on. Several coaches turned him down due to his age and didnt want to be looking for new jobs in a year or two. That would literally be the biggest challenge for him and its the exact reason (coupled with NIL) he retired. Then LSU would be looking for a new coach in 3 years probably on top of that. I dont think he wants to tarnish his image in anyway by having some bad records his last few seasons. He knew to go out on top and stay there

25 for 5 guaranteed......payout guaranteed after 2.....along with guarantees for DC ' OC and line coaches for the same time period. With renegotiations after 3 years if he wins a minimum of 9 games or he walks with the 50 million payout as do his coaches with guarantees.....in a lump sum.

Please freaking stop with the Saban post. Dear god we look so freaking sad. Move on it’s been 20 years. Saban left bama where he had EVERYTHING in place to win another ship and walked away. He’s never coaching again. You people need to stop you’re like begging go little children.

There is a reason Saban quit. NIL. He's not coaching again. Don't you remember he knew his career was over when after the season, players came into his office.
They used to ask, "what can I do to get better for next year? Now, they come in asking, "What is my NIL going to be?".
