And if so, how much more blame should be thrown on Woody for that stupid decision?

We need to evaluate, interview, and hire a competent head coach. Then let him hire his own people. Forcing a new head coach to keep anyone shows you don't really trust him.

Nope.

But most of this board was hoping he would be retained and happy that he was.

Idk but it seems very weird that the sticking point for Woodward would be the BK wanted to fire Brad Davis. I can’t figure out why that would be an issue.

To be fair, Davis was recruiting lights out at the time Kelly came on board. I think the idea there was keep Davis to keep Will Campbell and Emery Jones locked up.

I'm not saying that at all. Brian Kelly obviously wasn't even trying here. My point is that if Davis was forced on him, Woody needs to go also.

Some of you have no idea how this works at LSU in certain cases

Brad david aligned himself with the University Admin, and that includes woodward.

He was the singular person held over in the program when Kelly came in, but yeah prob just a coincidence hes still here

While I agree with you, Brad Davis had a solid track record when BK was hired. The OL was good for the first 2 years of the BK era. Whoever is the new coach should make their own hires and decisions on who stays and goes, but they should also be heavily advised that he already has some very solid assistants with strong Louisiana ties in Corey Raymond, Kyle Williams, and Frank Wilson, and he should seriously consider retaining them on this staff. Of course, it will be his final say as it should be, but take Brian Kelly's DB room in 2023 as a warning as to why you should not let Raymond go.

at pass blocking. That’s it. The rushing game was Jayden Daniels 1100 yards on creativity.
Davis was a good recruiter and a shitty developed. Sam Pittman covered his arse at Arky. That’s who was coaching their OLine.

Davis is terrible but is a Woody pet. Woody wanted to be the university president but he really should be a janitor there at most because he is taking us to the cleaners.

I mean, its been widely reported that a few staff members werent BKs pick.

He also wanted to fire Baker after last weekend, and Woodward balked at that because a few donors want to keep him.

Hate BK all you want, I know I do, but after giving up 50 and looking like shite on the defensive side in all 3 loses, you damn well better believe Baker should be on the hot seat too.

Are you suggesting Brad Davis and then maybe Frank and Corey later were admin choices and not BK choices? How about Hankton? Would that explain why Denbrock left?

Someone decided to recruit tackles and make some of them guards. This is why we can't run the football. We have tackles playing guard, but finally have a true center in Bralin Moore. I don't know who made this decision. Was it Kelly or Davis?

Think Damian Lewis or Trai Turner as true guards with a lower center of gravity that can generate a push in the run game.

What difference does it make at this point. The offensive line has been simply atrocious. Kelly hasn't recruited worth a flip.

None of this is wrong, but with 2 true freshman tackles and very solid production, my point still stands that there was no reason at that time to fire Brad Davis.

If Davis is such a good recruiter then he needs to move to RC b/c he is a horrible OL coach.

Does Kelly strike you as a dude that gets things forced on him? No

As to Davis get him away from the program as quickly as possible.
