Get real.

You saw how Kelly was talking to the other assistants (Sloan and the ST Coordinator) so disrespectfully?

Go back and watch how he approached Baker... It was a calm and polite conversation. And the defense was getting worked.

Kelly knew that Baker doesn't stand for that crap. Baker has been great this season. Yes, he is blitz heavy, but we have many more sacks, turnovers, and forced punts this season than we have in a LONG time at LSU.

I get it, we want blood when the standard isn't met. Baker is the only real reason we had any hope for getting back to that standard at all early in the season during and post-Florida game.

That’s fine and all, but his leash better be short.

He is trending in a direction where this team cannot stop any offense with a pulse.

I wouldn't be mad if Kiffin retained him

I wouldn't go that far. LSU has given up over 600 rushing yards in it's last 3 games. They gave up 50 to A&M, what should've been 38 to Vandy and got gashed by SCAR. This defense has not been good for a month.

LSU defensively in it's last 4 games has averaged giving up 406 YPG and 29 PPG. LSU's defense is not good right now.

Baker’s defensive style is a liability vs good play callers. We leave people open all the time. Clemson couldn’t see it, Kiffin did. Vandy and Aggies did too.

The loss of Whit and knowing your offense will never have your back has got to be taxing.

Only a matter of time before the dam broke.

I can’t argue you solid numbers point. But how many times has it been video high highlighted with LB’s being out of place or over persuaded. To the point our Safety has to call the defensive play. Oh and the overall improvement last year when Perkins got hurt. And Perk is a hella athlete. Just not a QB of the defense!

Baker needs someone that can help him with mobile QBs (how to stop them). Like Baker's scheme but he needs to get that aspect figured out. Its football now.

Did the defense not just give up 426 yards and get out scored 35-7 in one half or am I missing something?

I like Blake but he's the LB's coach. If they suck and you recruited and developed them.........

Sure. But you cannot base a defense on one man.

They started tackling ball carriers’ shoulder pads. I cannot figure that one out.

The defense is giving up over 400 YPG and almost 30 points in it's last 4 games and that includes a bad SCAR team and a mercy kneel from Vandy.

What games have you been watching?

Defense played well against Clemson, but they are currently ranked 60th in total offense and have already lost 4 games.

Against teams with a pulse on offense (Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and A&M, all 3 of whom are in the top 30 in total offense) they have been awful.

Those three teams are converting over 50% of their third downs and we have allowed them to score on half of their drives as well.

Defense is far from the main problem, but Baker is the highest paid DC in the country and this defense ain't what people make it out to be. He needs to go too.

I understand he’s our best player on that side of the ball, but if 1 guy goes out and your whole defense goes to shite, that’s a serious problem.

What do you mean, shirt leash?

We aren’t going to fire him this year. And the next coach will decide who the next DC is.

It’s a moot point now.

If you look at the multitude of 3rd down conversions from our opponents, that tells me all I need to know about Baker.

3rd & Baker is a thing however you might want to dismiss it
