i don't think we're getting a big name coach again. it'll be someone young and upcoming. it just feels like we're going to be set back another 4 years

John Summerall is the right person to take over but the LSU Board of Supervisors will frick that up watch.

Like Elko or Lanning or Cig or Freeman? It doesn’t have to be a big name, can he recruit, can he coach, can he build a staff?

Hope so.
No big game hunting.

As long as it’s not a 40+ mil contract then it would be a terrible setback.
Between the $17M we paid O, the $53M we owe BK, we’re at $70M paid to coaches to not work for us in the last 5 years.
That total number cannot be $100M+ by 2030.

BK was a big name at the time of his hire. He had been to the playoffs in recent years. He had good records, butin this era I’d rather a younger successful coach over a old, white, yankee, a-hole….unless it was Saban, which will never happen, and even then in this NIL era idk that he’d have his usual success.

Big names were available when Kelly was hired. They all ended up big disappointments.

Unless we're getting Smart or Kiffin, I don't want to hunt for big game.

We're not paying BK anywhere near 53M

I would be shocked if it turns out to be less than a $40 million contract.

Nothing has been decided and he would have no reason to not take it unless they negotiate over the offset language terms.
