What good options do we actually have?

LSU firing Kelly (34-14) to chase an elite coach seems risky. Top coaches like Kiffin or Freeman are set at successful programs. The elite pool is small, and poaching is tough. Why ditch for a gamble?

Saban
Kiffin
Lanning
Brohm
Some random person that we’ll talk ourselves into liking after a couple days of leaks

It’s obvious it wasn’t working. Why keep going down that road if it’s going to ultimately fail?
LSU doesn’t need the best coach in college football to win.

We have a lot. We do not have to hire a big name like Kelly. That worked out like shite. We can hire a younger and hungrier coach

Because you have a top 5 college job that great coaches covet and your current coach has lost not only the team, but can’t come back from the damage he’s done to the program. But your fear is noted.

Yeah, the options are limited. Realistically, we are looking at rolling the dice on a coach.

Loser mentality that would keep Kelly here for 2 more years at least

I’ll take a roll of the dice coach vs a sure thing like CBK

Kiffin should be your #1 guy.
Lanning isn't coming to lsu.
I'd take a deep look into will stein. Former qb. Has coached up some really good college qbs. Has a fun offense. He's young so It would be a risk.

LOL, like Georgia did with Smart and Oregon with Lanning. Get out of here with this crap. Kelly was done here. It was time to move on. Get over it. There are good coaches all over this country not named Brian Kelly

Yes. Focus on him. Put all your effort into hiring him. I feel like it'll work out well for you. The effort, that is.

Les Miles and Ed Orgeron the best coaches? LOL, we do need a really good coach though. Kelly is no longer that. He is washed.

Not sure just exactly how Les won... but he did, nonetheless. Stupid good luck?

Not the only options on the board. I’d bet LSU has more options.
