I’ve always been an iPhone snob

I have tried android three times in the past and thought the OS was just awful. I hated everything about android
My Dad just upgraded his phone and asked me to come over and help him set up some apps, etc / he’s 72 years old and very good on an actual computer but not very good with cellphones
Anyways, I was playing around with his SamSung A number something ( I can’t remember the number) and holy shite I was blown away at how bad arse this phone was. Even though it’s an Android, it felt nothing like being on an Android. It felt more like a better version of iPhone
I’m actually looking to upgrade my iPhone - I’m still on 10 (I think) and I love the phone and all that but the battery life fricking sucks on this thing - I did a search and his Samsung has 19 more hours of battery life than my iPhone. That is insane to me
Anybody have experience with Samsung Android operating system? If so, what are your thoughts about it?

I've been using the pixel phones for years
I've had a couple of iPhones as work phones and they honestly seem like antiquated pieces of shite that are difficult to use by comparison
I could see many years ago thinking that the Android platform was kinda wonky though so I get where you're coming from

The last time I played around with an android was around 3-4 years ago. Either Android has come a long ways OR SamSung has enhanced the Android OS with their own version

Apple has the best hardware, but IMO the pure android experience on the pixel blows iOS away.

S24 ultra. Amazing phone.
Upgrading to the new one in January, although this one hasn't slowed a bit. Still great two years later.

My almost 10 year old phone is slow and outdated compared to a brand new samsung...
Well no shite.

Had a few galaxy phones over the years. Like the OS. Switched over to the Pixel a few years ago as all of my accounts are easily linked through Google. Honestly prefer the Pixel and will be upgrading to the 10 Pro soon.

I’m not complaining about the speed of the phone. I update my iPhone to every new update so I have the latest OS.

Scrolling social media and posting selfies requires cutting edge tech. I read Apple is expecting a 25% boost in feed scrolling and selfie posting with their next gen SoC.

Samsung OS has been goat'ed for a couple years now, just flat out amazing.

I'm a Samsung user, but I prefer the Pixel Android experience over Samsung. That said, Samsung has made huge strides on their end vs a few years ago.

All I can offer is every android owner I have ever known always carries phone charging devices with them. All I got.

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but the 16 Plus is rated for 27 hours of video playback while the s25 is rated for 29, which in the real world is basically a wash.
I think the larger issue is that you're carrying a very old phone, which not only started out with about half the battery life when brand new, but is also probably at about half of its rated battery life at this point

I find that these debates are often like, Manual vs Automatic. There are no right or wrong choices. It's just what you want/expect from the device.
One man's trash is another's treasure.
You're not making a life commitment by choosing an iOS or Android device. Buy one and try it out. I mean, even a "bad" phone is still usable. Worst case scenario you hate it and get rid of it. It's not a big deal. If that is a big deal, then just stick with what you're used to.

Until you get booted from the group chats for turning everybody’s text green. You have no friends

You're not going to get booted from friend groups for having green text, and if you do, then do you really want to talk to them?

True friends don’t let you go down the bad path. Bad ones just ignore it

I can't imagine not having an iphone. Not for the hardware but for the software.
