Jimmy Sexton has taken damn near every AD fo a ride a these athletic directors have no business skills and sign these 10 year 95 million dollar FULLY guaranteed contracts.

It’s time to call Sexton’s bluff on a coach leaving - it happened with FSU and Mike Norvell when the Bama HC position opened up, he was seen as “a target” and got an insane extension which they are absolutely hating themselves for now.

Why? Cause Sexton put out rumors that Norvell was gonna leave for the bama position and FSU was scared to call the bluff and ponied up.

A lot of money for a great HC didn’t seem to be going away, but it’s time LSU and other universities get some goddamn business people in the contract negotiations. Sexton and Woodward fricked us.

Woodward has gone 2/4

Mulley and Jay are amazing

Kelly and McMahon suck (I don’t fully blame McMahon cause he’s got a shite sandwich situation)

People are saying fire Woodward but he signed a bad friggin deals he’s also got 2 other HC’s that are simply amazing. I’m not ready to cut the cord on him, but he completely botched the football HC. I’m okay to give him another shot,.. BUT

I want lawyers and fricking business men on the next HC contract negations.

But 0/2 on hires that actually matter. That's not a dig at the other sports, but they're all a net negative on the AD

Not sure I trust Woody to hire the next football coach. Look at Jimbo and BK. Both of those coaches should be paying Woody a commission.

Made a bomb dessert & burnt the main course to a crisp.
His weighted evaluation would be way worse than 50:50.

Fair enough - I hear you and I’m willing to agree

My main point remains. Sexton puts out rumors for Lane Kiffin 13.5 million fully guaranteed from the Florida gators.

LSU will have to match or offer 14 million?

Anyone in the know… who is helping Woodward when he’s getting anal fricked by sexton with no lube? Anyone

Woodward signed Fisher to his original ten year contract at A&M, he extended Orgeron, and he signed Kelly, a 60 year old coach who had a clear track record of poor performance in big games, to a ten year contract. This isn't an athletic director problem, it's a Scott Woodward problem.

Is there any accountability?

It seems when the AD screws up a white knight or three rides in to bail him out.

Sure it’s a Woodward problem on the HC choice. I agree with you for sure. But these contracts.. No matter who the AD is, Sexton is taking them for a ride every time on the contract terms.

They have the leverage.

Do you know how difficult it is to coach College Football? It's nearly impossible. There are only a handful of people alive right now that can coach a major FBS program and have them win consistently. And even then, some of those same guys flame out when the conditions aren't right. Kelly, Norvell, Fleck, Tucker, Fickell, etc.

Having a winning FBS program is not only a portal to future success, it drives revenue and brings prosperity to the university and the region. The ROI of a good hire is incalculable due to the 2nd and 3rd order effects.

It's such a unique personality, temperament, and work ethic that can handle that sort of pressure. The ADs aren't just throwing money around for the sake of it. A winning hire gets your money back in spades.

Agree fully. I mentioned that a lot of money for a great HC doesn’t seem to be going away.

But if we can get terms of maybe “if LSU has 2 seasons of 8 wins or less in a row, they reserve the right to exit the contract”

Something like that. Idk but man these coaches are getting paid. I think they understand the EXPECTATION at LSU and if they can’t meet the basics (9/10 wins or more) then LSU needs an easy exit strategy inked in the contract

I’m okay with paying the RIGHT HC north of 10M.

I just want an exit strategy inked in the contract, back to back seasons of 8 wins or less, LSU can exit the contract or pay significantly less on a buyout. Something that gives LSU some leverage
