Is it really as simple as having a mobile QB?

It's really starting to seem that way. A mobile QB just hides so many offensive flaws ie. bad oline play and play calling. We saw it with JD but we also see it against our opponents. A lot of the guys we've struggled with so far aren't even great QBs. It just challenges the discipline of your defense.

Does your QB have to be elite in this era? I'm starting to think not.

One that takes care of the ball, yeah.

You have to be able to move out of the pocket in today's game. At the college and pro level.

That is a big first step. But neither Nussmeier or Sloan is good.

Its really funny. My auburn buddies told me yesterday they'd be 7-1 with nuss and not Arnold. Their rbs average 6 a carry, the qb just cant throw. Nuss is a good qb. The oline sucks, and the oc calls are trash.

Jayden Daniels type players don't grow on trees and we certainly don't have that guy on the roster. It would help if our QB was mobile, but the most mobile QB would still be running for their lives behind this line.

Maybe, but your "elite coach" has to be held accountable for the current situation as well.

I started a thread earlier this year stating how having a pussy at QB like Nuss is not what will work.

All LSU needs is a QB that can be a little mobile, complete 60% of their passes 15 yards in, and 30% of their passes over 15 yards. This would be a huge upgrade over the pussy baby shite we have now.

Can MVB do it? I bet almost any QB in the SEC besides the baby shite we have now could do it.

I mean the playcalling is still really bad and the OL is piss poor at pass blocking. MVB being in the lineup wouldn’t have made this team a title contender.

Its not even mobility thats the issue. Its Nuss refusing to throw downfield. He can't read defenses, hes the checkdown king at this point and he avoids the center of the field even though everytime we complete a pass there its for huge gains.

MVBs first throw was a 22 yard completion on a seam route. We ran that exact play multiple times last night. Nuss just refused to throw it and instead hit the check down.

He maybe the 2nd worst QB in the last 20 years that play for LSU. Only Max Johnson has been worse.

Yall keeping saying "but the Oline" or blaming Sloan. Guys are open, WIDE OPEN and Nuss just avoids it.

Lots of teams have mobile QBs but only 1 wins it all. It helps but the problem is coaching

It limits your offense if you don’t. College football has revolved to where your qb must be mobile enough.

The basics will always be to own the trenches. If you can’t do that you need to cover with a mobile QB.

Auburn has top 2 defense in sec, and best run average/ carry with rbs. They cant throw, if they could they'd be top of the sec. Seems to check out, but who knows.
