I think Beamer is way better than his record, but he is like a hair away from getting fired. LSU doesn't have to settle like that- just find an accomplished coach who actually fits (unlike what happened last time).
Stay far, far away from Franklin though. Guy is BK who's harder to get rid of because of his innate PR abilities

Brian Kelly’s problem is he is not winning near enough. Period. End of story.
If he is making playoffs and winning championships he can be the biggest a-hole in the world and personally tell me to go frick myself every morning. He could be from Outer Mongolia and not speak English for all I care.

'Fit' is not about the fans fwiw. It's about the players and the administration, and it most certainly does matter if the prospective coach can gel with the existing pieces

If Beamer left South Carolina, I can see him going to Virginia Tech and James Franklin going to South Carolina. If not, I bet he stays at SC. I still think Franklin to Va Tech makes the most sense if Beamer isn’t their choice.
