The exact same reason liberals will flee from a place like California or Illinois or New York because taxes and crime are too high and then go vote Democrat in the place they end up moving to.
Very few people make decisions based purely on factual data and logic. There's a lot of emotions that go into it plus there's a lot of people that are just plain old fashioned stupid.

Why do morons from Cali and NY elect communists and then flee only to vote for communist policies in other states?
If these morons elect Mamdani, they should be forced to stay in NYC for the entirety of his administration. No one is allowed to flee that votes democrat, they must stay and then vote in the next election cycle.
