How often is the air fryer cleaned in your house?

..and why do some people treat it like a cast iron pot?

They're supposed to be cleaned?

I don’t have an air fryer for a few reasons but one is I can’t stand unnecessary appliances taking up counter space, but I am always appalled slightly when I go to someone house and the air fryer looks like it’s never even been wiped out. That’s bacteria bro.

I don’t have a yuppie fryer. I still deep fry in peanut oil.

At least weekly... I use it a lot though and it gets gross pretty quickly.

I tried an air fryer for my semi - wasn't impressed. Pain in the butt to clean so I just stuck with my George Foreman. Ever since I bought one of those BougeRV freezers over the summer and loaded it up with chicken, beef, and pork I've dropped nearly 30 lbs.

Every time I use it? Isn’t that the correct answer?

It should be, but it’s not for most people.

Every time it’s used, but we just bought an oven that also air fry’s so might not get washed (or used) again.

What.. WHAT?
Um, every time it gets used like any other pot or pan? The frick?
Edit - mine is the kind with the baskets where you put food directly into them
I realize now the oven looking ones only need the tray cleaned and you can use foil. Mine isn’t that kind.

Every time. Its like any other pan or pot, imo.

Every use. I take the basket out and then the pan lining and wash it. It’s not hard.

If I’m cooking something that can shake out afterwards, I’ll let it go a couple uses. If it’s something with juices that build up in the bottom, or something that has a lot of marinade, I’ll heat it back up to liquify and then dump and clean it before next use.

My wife loves the air fryer, and she cleans it religiously after every use----no matter what she cooks in it.
We don't do chicken wings in that thing and not clean it afterwards. To do so is flirting with a case of food poisoning at the very least.

My wife and I (me) clean it after every use, and we store it out of sight in an appliance cabinet, along with the microwave, coffee pot and toaster.

Even a cast iron should be cleaned / as in wiped down and coated lightly with oil. I clean my Air fryer every time I use it.

I clean the racks/trays but not the inside of the fryer

After every use like a civilized society expects

Mine is like an oven. I clean the trays that slide in and had food on them while cooking. I don’t clean the rest though very often. It never makes contact with the food.
