I say it’s wishful thinking.
Seems like a lot of talk to excite the right. There’s been literally zero time table or realistic amounts mentioned.
Love though when people think they’ll get $5k.

There should be no stimulus checks. Period. Reduce the deficit or the national debt.

It's more than wishful thinking, it's ignorance or lunacy. Adding tons of money to the economy creates inflation and any excess from tariffs need to pay down the debt. Stimmy checks shouldn't even be in the conversation.

No thanks. Last time I got an $800 stimulus check, inflation went up to 8% and cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars. frick that.

You realize it’s not that kind of debt… a tariff is a import tax.., that excess you speak of doesn’t come from a foreign government… it’s comes from Americans paying more for goods that in reality (rather we want to admit it or not) can’t/won’t be manufactured in the US…

Exactly! We live in a country where taxation without representation has always existed. I don’t condone sending MY hard as shite earned money to fricking Ukraine, Shaniqua and her 5 fatherless children, illegal immigrants and there 5 illegal children…etc! That money was stolen from me and I want it back! I didn’t create the debt! If they would like money from me for something then ask me and show me exactly where it’s going!

I hope not. Every stimulus check we've ever gotten has swiftly resulted in inflation, particularly at the grocery store. All that stimulus money just ends up in the hands of corporations with no long term benefit to the people. It just feels good in the short term. Invest the money in our decaying infrastructure instead.

And? What I mean by that is it's an irrelevant stance for the context of this topic. Income tax doesn't come from foreign governments either, but it's used to service debt. For purposes of debt servicing, government revenue is government revenue is government revenue. Where it comes from doesn't do anything to change the fact that the most beneficial use of it is to offset deficit spending and, if possible, pay down the debt.

I would rather see the money applied to the deficit. Of course, that want mean much if they don’t cut federal spending as well. If they are not going to do this with the money give further tax breaks to the middle class. Let people keep more of the money they earn.
