This just doesnt make sense to me, and before you downvote, please listen to what I have to say.

Snap should be one of the least needed programs in the country to begin with. Good, healthy food should not be as expensive as it is, and its quite expensive. At the very least, we need to find a way to drive the cost of protein down. Just my opinion.

Anyways, we have money to just hand out on some BS like food stamps for people who didnt even request them for their kids over the summer... im sure the budget isnt the same.. but cmon bro.. at least 1 month of emergency state level funds should have been budgeted.

I don't see anything wrong with fighting obesity and diabetes.

I somewhat agree. I feel for everyone who is reliant on these funds because the funds were cut immediately. Most folks have some sort of warning to be able to adjust their lifestyle but in cases such as this the impact is immediate and thus more stressful.

I dont agree what its spent on necessarily but thats for another day.

Peace.

These programs should be stop-gaps, not a way of life.

They are doing this to get their voters back on the plantation. Same old tired game the democrats always run. The idiots on snap will lap it up like a dog when the queers in the media tell them Trump did this to them.

How about we limit to healthy food instead of colas and potato chips?

Go the OT and read the post of the top purchased food items on SNAP.

The number one slot is not good, healthy food... Soda is king.

Eating healthy can be expensive, but not nearly as expensive as a 12pk of coke, a 32ct box of bagged chips and a stack of cookies.

There were NO fresh fruits on the top purchases list and only ONE vegetable- potatoes.

Boxes of necessities to supplement what you work to pay for. Breaking the generational entitlement has to start somewhere

Since when was SNAP limited to "good healthy foods"? The government is shut down because someone is afraid of losing his Senate seat. Carving out certain "good programs" to fund during the shutdown is a bad idea.

Perhaps this could be a motivation for many to take control of their lives and not have daddy government take care of you.

Yes many are in legit need but there are for more that turned it into a lifestyle, some 3rd and 4th generation leaches…

The St. Vincent de Paul society at just my small church supports 50 local families with food. I'm sure all churches could step it up for a month.

SNAP should look like this.

SNAP should not look like this

We need to quit blindly giving our population who can’t make it on their own an EBT card to continue making bad choices.

This is the kind of shite that loses elections honestly.

Its the old timer hard line conservatives that have absolutist mentalities on crap.

Regulate snap dont just abolish it. I love how hard-core people are until something happens to them...

One in 10 females from 18 to 25 are currently selling nudes of themselves... and plenty of conservative dads' daughters are selling themselves to their own friends for cash.

We are broken as a society. The last thing we need to do is pull the rug out without a good back up plan and proper guidance.

This bullshite myth needs to end. If broken down on a cost per meal per person, it is no more expensive and in most cases much cheaper. It takes a little more effort and some planning, not more money.
