Do your research. They are having an absolutely major problem with transmissions. I’ve owned nothing but Chevys, my whole life, but just ordered a Tundra.

My current Chevy Silverado had a new transmission put in two years ago. It’s currently in the shop having that transmission replaced under the warranty because of shuddering problems.

If you Google transmission problems in Chevys or GMC trucks, you will see it’s a major problem. Our mechanic that our whole family uses says exactly what I said above. Just some advice.

A better question is something along the lines of “I’m buying a Chevy or GMC pickup this week. Dealerships to avoid or go to please?”

“Best price” isn’t always the best deal.

This. I pay a little more at a local dealership because it’s between my house and office, I know the owner, and they treat us like gold when it comes to service.

I drive a 2022 AT4. 3.0 Baby Duramax. 60,000+ miles. No transmission problems to date.

We’ve had several GM vehicles over the years (mainly GMC) with no transmission problems. I’m not saying they don’t have problems, but ours have been fine.

I have had to replace transmissions in both of my silverados (2007 and 2017) at 130k and 103k miles respectively. Every person I know that had the 2016-2019ish model had to replace their transmission between 56k miles and 130k miles. My buddy with a brand new GM has had his truck in the shop for a few months already for transmission issues.

Im not saying what truck to buy but just offering that up.

Do you enjoy frame rust?

GM is too cheap to e-cost their frames like literally everyone else. Even Hyundai e-coats.

Instead, GM dips the frames in wax which flakes off after a few years and you get a rusty frame. Avoid.

This is definitely something you should ask here and not google or do any research for yourself. Good job.

Same issues for Tahoe I assume? Been considering a tahoe/yukon but heard lots of transmission issues with the trucks.

They had some oilfield baw from the Houma-Thibodaux area that got 1 million miles on a Tundra in less than 10 years.

Toyota bought it back and gave him a new one. He bought the original in 2007 and Toyota bought it back in 2016.

This. GM cars suck and just about everyone I know who has one manufactured in the last decade has had transmission problems way before they should
