One game and we seeing this thread lol.
I sure don’t recall seeing these threads pop up last year when DD was having games thst haven’t been seen in the league since MJ in the 80’s.
Not sure why you comparing Herb to DD either. The correct comparison is to Murray. What was his stat line tonight?

Herb was out almost all of last year.

You went all in on him being the better player than Herb eventually. I'm here to point out that he's not and will never be. Dyson still has 81 games to prove me wrong.

Oh the player that popped his Achilles that you use as the reasoning that you were always right about the Dyson trade? He had 4 less points than Dyson lol.
Didn't you also say we should've kept Dyson over Herb too? Yeah you did.

DD is a solid player...wish we still had him...but his offensive game is VERY questionable. Herb quite a bit ahead of him offensively. Both great defenders.

This is not going to age well, we get fleeced every trade because Gayle is clueless. Even if we trade well like the haul for AD we frick up the picks or if the picks develop they want out of the NOLA poverty franchise shithole.
No matter what happens we can’t win this thread with Herb.

I still think he will be, he’s a few years behind Herb. He’s more advanced at his age compared to where Herb was at 21.

Like usual, wrong again.
I was probably the only person on this board that said DD and Herb should be starting together and our advanced stats backed me up on that the year before.
I was only trading Herb if we got back a real player or star like Trae.

And to keep it honest, you also need to include wherever our current unprotected pick is in your thread, that’s what the Murray trade ended up costing us since Griff traded one of the 1st rounders in the DD trade to the Hawks, leaving Dumars to go desperate and trade them ours. Don’t forget to leave that out….

Neither of which have anything to do with the other.
Why don’t you make a Herb vs BI thread. They are closer in age. It would make more sense than what you are trying to do lol…...

Where was this thread last year? Can we at least acknowledge that Dyson is leading 1-0 on this series?
I'm fine with this thread overall, but we have to acknowledge season 1 of this comparison.

Because this is the comp that many people were making in other threads: "We should have kept Dyson and traded Herb."

Dyson is going to be better than Herb according to you. Both have been compared in other threads.

Why is this thread so offensive to you
You're on this board, you know that there was much debate on whether we should keep Herb or Dyson, because we couldn't do both. Similar players that do similar things and people were picking who we should keep of the two. It's not that hard to understand.

Can you give us a breakdown of how awesome Herb's offense was from 22-25 in college and his first 2 seasons here? Herb was drafted at 23 and sucked arse offensively for 2 years. Dyson has 1 more full season in the NBA before he'd comparably be 23 y/o and THEN can still have 2 more years of shitty offense before you can make an equal comparison.
Herb from 19-22 (in college): 44% fg 28% 3pt
Dyson from 19-22 (in the NBA): 47% fg 32.6% 3pt
Dyson has been better in the NBA at 19-22 than Herb was in college against lesser talent from 19-23.
Y'all just really don't get it.

Why is this thread so offensive to you
It’s not. I still think DD will be the better player. The OP is trying to insinuate I’m a Herb hater. When I said numerous times I’d start both of them as impractical as it sounds. Our highest ranked lineups were those stretch of games when DD started at pg with Herb.
Now trading Herb for Murray would have definitely saved us two first rounders. Which woukd have saved Dumars from trading the Pacers pick since we woukd have sent the ‘25 lakers pick instead. It was actually a better pick.
The Pacers pick became way more appealing after Halliburton’s injury. So maybe that would have been good enough in the Queen trade allowing us to keep our unprotected pick this year. Pacers pick is top 4 protected with their two best players gone.
So you have to ask yourself, is the gap big enough between Herb and DD that it was worth our unprotected pick this year, or at worse, the Pacers top 4 pick next year and where that ‘27 pick ends up? Which may also turn out to be a very good pick.
