Would you eat insects if they were actually cheap and readily available?

I actually wouldn’t mind incorporating them into my diet moving forward. They’re very nutritious and full of protein. I’ve eaten barbecue crickets at the insectarium in NOLA before and they were delicious
However, when I search for bugs to eat online they are all extremely expensive. There has to be a way to farm these things, increase the supply, and drive down the cost, right?
How many of you would be willing to eat insects or arachnids occasionally?

I've eaten grasshoppers in Oaxacan food.
That's about it. The bugs arent bad but the legs in your teeth suck.

There are tribes in South America that live off bugs. I’d give it a run if a chef put it together

I eat lots of them for free when I am on the bike.

I'd probably try it as flour. Bug bread

They already are... your backyard. Collect em, roast em, eat em... then make a food vlog.

That's gonna be a "no" from me, dog.

Other side of the world they fry them up, not sure what the cost is.

Most here already eat bugs, just the water kind. Not sure what the hangup with insects is. I have tried grasshoppers and mealworms. They were not bad. Do not however, tell me to eat bugs instead of steak. That ain't happening.

In Asia they have street vendors selling them out of carts or bbq grills.
When I was over there, drunkenly roaming around, someone warned me not to eat them because they supposedly farm them by growing them in fields and then dousing the fields with a heavy dose of bug poison to harvest them so basically it's like spraying raid on your plate of food.

Cheap and readily available aren’t the criteria I’m worried about.
If they taste good and won’t make me ill, I’ll eat them.

We all already eat insects, and a lot worse, if you eat at all.

You are in luck, if you live in the south insects are cheap and readily available almost year round. Enjoy, glad I could help

Roach soufflé?
Hard pass.
Great. Now my stomach is doing flip flops.

I didn't fight my way to the top of the food chain to eat a cricket.

It would depend entirely on the flavor. If you think about it, shrimp, crawfish, lobsters, and crabs aren't a whole lot different aside from living in water.
If you told me there was a bug in the everglades that was 16-20 count per pound and had the flavor and texture of a royal red, I'd eat them all the time
