NIL = Parity.

The top schools can't hide the payments, cars, etc. anymore. NIL and TV revenue has the Power 5 conferences on equal footing. Parity is here to stay. The portal is free agency and signing day is the draft. Welcome to the NCAA COLLEGE FOOTBALL LEAGUE.

Exactly, and fans of top programs need to drop the unrealistic expectations. 9-3 is a successful season now.

You're correct that there is more parity. However, Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, Oregon have all done a pretty good job of staying at the top.

Is there really parity?
Last I looked Georgia and Alabama are the overwhelming favorites to win the SEC and go to the playoffs. It’s been that way since 2016.
Ohio State is the favorite in the Big Ten. Indiana is new, but is that NIL or just a great coach related.
The addition of playoff teams to 12 is far more meaningful than NIL in regards to more teams being in the playoff hunt.
Last I looked Georgia and Alabama are the overwhelming favorites to win the SEC and go to the playoffs. It’s been that way since 2016.

There is parity but when a team is poorly coached and not playing to its potential is a problem.Thats where we are right now, inconsistent , soft , poor game plans etc.Those other programs that are doing well have improved game to game LSU hasn’t.

Both these teams are very beatable this year. Was not the case in years past.

Nothing has really changed.
Top 25 teams still have Top 25 recruiting classes, and so on. If anything, NIL has REDUCED parity.

Those are the 4 best programs in the country whose teams go 11-1/10-2 every season. LSU has never been that type of program. Under the greatest coach in college football history, LSU lost 4, 3, 5, 1, 3 (11 game regular season) games respectively.
Les used that momentum and went 11-2, 11-2, 12-2 his 1st 3 seasons, then lost 5 games in ‘08 and only had 1 more season with less than 3 losses his entire tenure when we went 13-1 in 2011. So if you want to start the greatest run in LSU history in 2001 with that 1st SEC Championship in 2001 (that ended with the arse kicking of Illinois in the Sugar Bowl) and take it through the 2019 season, we still lost 3 games that season and lucked out by making the SECCG by going 5-3 in a super down SECW.
So, in the greatest 19 seasons stretch in LSU football history, when we won 3 National Titles, played for 4, won 4 SEC titles, 5 SEC West titles, we only lost less than 3 games in 5 of them. Only lost less than 2 in 3 of them, and 1 wasn’t a NC season. We had the only 2-loss NC season in modern day history until last season when the 12-team playoff was implemented.
Now, some of those teams are some of the best of all time. But we’ve never been an annual 12-0/11-1/10-2 program like the ones you mentioned. That’s just not who we are or ever have been. Or likely ever will be. We have a lot of built in advantages. More than most schools. But not like the schools you mentioned. At our BEST, we are an annual
10-2/9-3 team that can put together an all-time great NC type team every 6-7 years when the stars align. And that’s ok. I’d take that over Oregon’s consistency that usually ended in a Rose Bowl and just shy of a NC.

Idk what you think I said. I said there is not parity now but those schools have done a good job of staying at the top. Do you disagree with that?

It does exist. Parity does not explain our poor & often undisciplined play though.

what saban would have done with 05 and 06 rosters, especially with a real recruiting class in 05, is the worst thought exercise an LSU fan can put himself through
