When LSU hired Saban, it was coming off a trouncing of his Mich State team in the Independence Bowl. Saban was not a know commoditiy. He was an up and coming coach and our leadership saw something in him to hire him, and yes we paid him a lot to come to LSU.
I cannot understand why LSU would not look for someone with the equivalent experience and success that Saban had at that point in his career.
Why would we ever, after the Kelly financial debacle, ever hire a quote 'proven record' like we did with Kelly. We cannot make that mistake again. LSU needs competent ,21st century coaching, not some relic that is using LSU for his retirement with little to no desire to actually be great.
Let's at the very least, learn from this gigantic mistake of a hire.

QB, you correctly analyzed this LSU situation except in identifying the real issue. Our AD, Mr. Woodward, is a free spender, who appears to enjoy dropping money from others pockets. LSU needs a talent recognizer and not a rewarder of use to be talent. Upcomers such as South Carolina’s Beamer and Missouri’s Drinkwitz should be considered as CBK’s replacement. Enough of this alignment failure named Kelly. I’ve had it with the POS robbing the university.

UF arguably has a higher ceiling if they want to achieve it. I’m just not sure they do. In the current landscape I’d agree we’re the cream of the crop.
