If we quite the bitching for five seconds, genuinely. Kiffin? He has never sniffed a playoff and has constantly choked when he's had the chance. Franklin? Who is basically just BK 2.0, a northerner who underperforms in big games. Do we take a risk on a smaller school coach like Sumrall? Maybe, but there is a decent chance you end up like UF and Napier.

The reality is that Kelly is still objectively one of the winningest coaches that will give you a high floor. Who's available right now that is better than Kelly and will for sure take us to the next level? I get why everyone is mad, but right now we're probably better off using that buyout money for continued NIL investment.

My grandma could coach better than Kelly is right now and she’s dead.

For Kelly to squander with poor coaching hires and decisions?

There is a nice handful of mid-level school and back end of big conference schools with great coaches performing at a high level with mid-tier talent. Not hard to figure out -- look at the before and after records. Not sure they fit culture wise or management wise (that's why interviews exist) but there are some solid candidates out there.

Agree, no Franklin. In short, yes you look at smaller schools but even coordinators ready to make the jump who have what it takes. Also, Saban's wake of former assistant coaches almost all seem to be killing it, so maybe start there. lol.

I see you’re putting that less than 2 week old account to good use, Mrs. Kelly.

The point is who do you REALISTICLY GET to replace BK.Does anybody think whether it’s SW or a new AD wouldn’t have to pay through the nose or 100% hire a championship coach.I understand you just want him gone and then after the next guy disappoints you will want him gone and bitch about how much it will cost. Its one big revolving door at lsu and other schools.

Franklin - A light years worse "big game" record than BK. This dude constantly underperformed and you'd have to pay him a lot

Gruden - Hasn't coached in forever and is honestly more of a figure head in media than anything. Would he for sure be in on LSU in the long-term? Idk

Lan - Has not sniffed a playoff in his life

Sumrall - Maybe, sure

Vandy Coach - Still under contract and he loves coaching at Vandy, they are going to pay him a ton to stay, is it really worth matching?

USF Coach - Maybe, sure. That is a risk and he's not guaranteed to actually outperform Kelly

We will reevaluate this high floor statement at the end of this season.

There are plenty of good coordinators out there that would take our HC job. Yall just have to get out of this mindset that our HC has to have HC experience/SEC experience/Playoff experience/etc. We have an NFL model now. Austin Thomas will handle the GM duties. Get a coach who can lock down the x's and o's on one side of the ball.

None of these current successful NFL HCs had HC experience before their current job:
Sean Mcvay
Kevin O'Connell
Nick Sirianni
John Harbaugh
Kyle Shanahan
Sean McDermott
Matt Lafleur
Dan Campbell
Mike Tomlin
DeMeco Ryans
Ben Johnson

Neither did Kirby, Lanning or Ryan Day. Not saying these guys will be easy to find but that is what Woodward gets paid to do

Gruden

Any list with him on it should be thrown out. He has not coached in ages, he has never been a college head coach and there is no recent reason to believe that he would be a successful head coach.
