In the unlikely event that BK is fired (due to massive buyout):
1.) Lane Kiffin- highly likely he would have immediate success given his track record
2.) Jeff Brohm- may be hard to pry him from his Alma Mater but I think he’s an underrated coach and would be even better with LSU’s resources
3.) James Franklin- maybe he needs a change of scenery and would be hungry to show he can be a championship level coach. Has previous SEC experience.
4.) Dan Lanning- you never know, he may want to get back to coaching in the SEC. And I (biased of course) think LSU is a little better job than Oregon.

Oh he’s getting fired. The only question is the timing.

James Franklin would be Kelly 2.0
If not, worse
Lanning ain't going anywhere until Phil Knight dies

Jeff Brohm and James Franklin would be very "BK like" hires. Lanning is a pipe dream. Kiffin is the obvious choice, but I would be surprised if he's not coaching for UF next year.
Our options are either an old retread that we hope can be successful with better resources (i.e., BK) or a young guy that we think can make the jump.

I would add Clark Lea & Brent Key but they wouldn't be fancy enough for Woodward

I have your bias, but the honest truth is, LSU is not a better job than Oregon in today's college football landscape. They have more success, more money at their disposal, the gameday environment is top notch, and they have an easier path the playoffs every year.

James Franklin is a younger Kelly - don't get me wrong extremely solid but you don't lks would be miserable

So is Key but money talks.

this is so wrong, Oregon is a powerhouse financially and pretty much a shoe in for the playoffs most years

There's some coaches that I really enjoy watching their teams play. They seem well coached and mentally tough. The have an offensive and defensive identity.
1. Brent Key - Georgia tech is currently undefeated and those dudes play so hard for him. His teams on both sides of the ball seem angrier than the teams they play.
2. Clark Lea - He's been able to use the portal and older players to put build an incredible culture at Vandy of all places. Tim Beck is the OC that does an incredible job. Like Denbrock did for BK.
3. Kelvin Sheppard - If the dude is willing to leave the NFL he should get a call. The issue is that he's a first time coordinator.
4. Jeff Brohm - The dude is a straight up coach. He has quality assistants too.

And Jon Sumrall. He is going to get a P4 gig soon, and I think he's a good one.
Troy went 5-7 in 2019, 5-6 in 2020, and 5-7 in 2021. Sumrall takes them to 12-2 and 11-3 in 2022 and 2023 before he leaves for Tulane. Troy went 4-8 last year. He is one that's flying under the radar a bit but I think would be a fantastic coach.

I want Kiffin but more importantly who is going to hire him. When you look at Woodwards last 2 CFB coaching hires they have been terrible for each program. I know the BOS is very involved but we need a new AD also.

And I’m going to need to see how he does without Pavia.

Coaches who overachieve with traditionally middle of the pack teams or even cellar dwellers.
1. Google me Kurt Cignetti, but he just got PAID.
2. Tony Elliot at UVA is doing well also, and he seems like a great person and very good coach.
3. I like Brent Key at Georgia Tech too, but he's a GT guy. His teams play downhill with toughness and compete hard.
