For a family? That’s not bad at all (comparatively). Your company must be picking up a sizable portion.
Single BCBS PPO through my company is running me around $430/month.

Our BCBS plan at work increased 20% in 2025 and is going up 17% in 2026. A total increase of 41% in 2 years. An extra $1.9 million/year from what we paid in 2024. Obamacare is performing exactly as intended.

shite when I left my last job in 2024, it was nearing $900/month for family coverage from BCBS/Alabama.
My wife is a pharmacist for CVS and we have Aetna now. Deductible per person is $4000 which is steep, but I don't think we have paid for a drug since being on it which is nice.

Health insurance is getting so damn expensive people are believing it’s a scam, and it’s getting harder and harder to argue it’s not.
Additionally, I do think every single company should shop their benefits or brokers yearly.
I hear stories all the time of companies who just accept the yearly increase and don’t shop their benefits or find brokers who can be creative to help the employees and the company get the best that’s out there.

So for one family your insurance cost almost $20,000 per year. between your portion and your employer.

What a moron! We are in the throes of the destruction that Obamacare was meant to unleash. Obama's hope was that his crappy policy would trigger the very crisis we're in right now. The point was to drive everyone down a dark alley of spiraling costs and over utilization until everyone begged for single payer. Well . . . here we are. Thanks Obama and thanks, John McCain.

And if something happens you have to pay $4,000 out of pocket before it fully kicks in, I've been burned the only two times we've used it in 13 years.

Our company announced today that their insurance cost went up $5.3 million for 2026 and they would be covering 80% of that increase. Our premium will be going from $370 to $420 per month for a family.

That's what we're seeing with UHC this year, 7.74%

More and more people are just dropping health insurance and doing without and taking their chances.
Posted on 10/20/25 at 11:45 am to Weekend Warrior79
I hear UHC is the worst offender of undercutting BCBS on rates to get companies on their plans and then jacking it up like a mf’er the following year.
