“Both of the incidents happened in an Israeli-controlled area, east to the yellow line. This is a bold violation of the ceasefire,” the official continued.
In response, the Jewish State responded with strikes in the north and south of the Gaza Strip.
In the end, it’s not shocking that the Islamist terror group refused to keep its word. The ultimate goal for them is the complete destruction of the Jewish State.

So now they have no hostages to broker peace with. There is no incentive for Israel or the US to talk with them now.

Probably true but how come there are not UN or EU soldiers/staff all along the line to keep peace and be the watchdog. You cannot believe either side at this point as to who might initiate violence.
