There is absolutely no chance that the LA-2 won't remain black.

Of course Georgia and NC would still have lib safe havens. Two absolute shithole states that are complete trash due to letting leftists frick everything up.

I thank God everyday for being from Louisiana, and living here my whole life with no intention of ever leaving.

That blue swath running through the Black Belt of Ga-Ala-Miss is named appropriately.

I have always said that the Louisiana map was blatant gerrymandering by Democrats. It's never supposed to look like that in dividing districts.

It’s a dangerous game to gerrymander Georgia that much. In a landslide election it could end up all blue.

Gainz will be lower than that. The gerrymandered districts bleach the neighboring districts.

The Court struck down a lot of those districts in the 1990s and the Dims took Congress in 2006.

Nashville has already been split into three court-approved red districts and the days of Davidson Co being a blue stronghold are over.

But that "plausable scenario" map is half fantasy. There is no way they gerrymander places like Memphis and other clusters into red districts. You're just creating too many 51/49 splits and all it takes is one bad economic shift or bad news cycle to swing all of those districts blue.

The goal is to maximize "safe" districts, not to maximize plurality districts. And part of that requires consolidating the opposition into their own district so they don't bleed over and dilute yours.

Feed population and land area into a computer and let it create districts based on math and geography, nothing else.

Probably not. It’s still pretty great that the push to add a second black (democrat) seat could possibly lead to there being none. Bridge too far?

That’s the part that doesn’t make sense. Not “second minority district”, second BLACK district.

Should Dearborn, MI have a majority middle eastern district? Should Frisco, TX have a majority Indian district? Why do only blacks get their own special districts?

I'd love to see it. I think Alabama keeps the democrat district that covers Birmingham. Maybe somebody can creatively shape it though. The Montgomery to Mobile district is new and court ordered but it should be easy to go back to the old districts.
