From WAFB

quote:

PIERRE PART, La. (WAFB) - An investigation is underway after three people were shot in a deputy-involved shooting in Assumption Parish.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office says one of their deputies shot an individual who opened fire on them as they were responding to a shooting call.

Sheriff Leland Falcon was grazed in the shooting, but is on scene and is expected to be okay. The sheriff’s office says Falcon was one of the first deputies to respond to a shooting call just before 3 p.m. at home in the 600 block of Bayou Drive regarding a complaint.

The perp shot the sheriff. He didn’t shoot the deputy.

Without going into too much detail, evidently the shooter didn't like that someone moved down the road from him and he was going to shoot them.

He had just come back from a job out of state, which he either was fired or quit from and came back home to learn about that person moving down the road.

Its possible the story could be something like that.

Nights at Oudreys and the Rainbow Inn are the stuff of legend amongst my high school podnuhs. Spunky Monkey coming on strong nowadays.

Talked to some locals tonight who heard it started with grass cutting and escalated from there.

Life in the big city sucks. This would never happen in Bayou Pigeon.

Boss move. Get shot, stay on scene to take care of business.

WAFB reported from the scene at 6 pm. Really, really nice homes. . . regardless of the parish.
