It's quaint, kinda dull. Not as many good restaurants as you would think being a seaside town. Beaches are nice.

Kind of sucks.....Would rather HH or Amelia. Most of the sea islands in GA are meh. Tybee, St Simons....

do not go to tybee on a summer weekend or a holiday. Otherwise it’s fun. Stop at hucapoos on the way down

The tides are unbelievable.

I only went for a day. Seemed to be a throwback to the 60’s 70’s.
Mostly small shops and houses. No high rises from what I saw. Beaches are firm and water is not crystal clear but seems clean. Lots of people. Pay parking for most areas. I liked it for that old-school vibe.

We have similar tides here and people ask why everyone is sitting so far back from the water line. And the response is, "wait until you see it come in"
We like to be close to the water so we go down but then when it's really coming in we're moving our stuff back every 15 minutes.
Islands should be pretty quiet now...we usually stop doing beach days when football season starts but definitely stop when the water is too cold to go in to pee.

I went there once years ago, maybe 2006. It was a trashy little crash pad beach town with nothing.

If you go, eat at The Crab Shack. Beaches are ok, nice bring close to Savannah if you want to go do touristy stuff there.
I much prefer further down the coast - Brunswick, St. Simons, Jekyll - if doing the Georgia sea islands. Otherwise I would go north up 17 to Charleston area.
