Just so everyone knows when thinking Cignetti is some up and comer.

Guy would in no way be a long term fit for UF or PSU

With all due respect, who cares about long term. If he there’s 5-6 years, he can win at a high level.

I think he will stay loyal to IU for taking a chance on him.

Posted in other thread but will place here:

So?

Win a natty and have the program rolling

Also cignetti comes across as a guy that’s going to coach a long time just to stick it to every single program and AD who never would give him a shot along the way.

at 34 yeah. At 64 not so much. He's making over $8m a year and if he's happy at Indiana why leave?

Did Miles ever do black? I know he did most of the spectrum, but I don't recall him ever coloring his hair black.

It’s more like Cignetti, a sitting FBS head coach with double digit wins, taking a chance on Indiana, a school that hadn’t won a thing in decades.

I saw an interview with him where he mentioned his age and that IU is his last stop but who knows.

James Madison to the Big Ten is a big jump, That would be a valid point if he coached Boise State or Tulane, not many people knew who he was when IU hired him even with a 10 win season...

So what? No one is looking for a coach for the next 20 years. Get five great years and a natty or two and let him call it a day

He’s a damn young looking 64 though. Only one year older than Kelly. I wish he was our coach.

Cignetti is at Indiana because no other major program would give him a shot because of his age.

It's agism at it finest. He's the best coach in CFB and ppl are still talking about his age because they're morons.

Schools with much higher football stature than Indiana have taken sunbelt coaches. (Florida, Auburn x2, Missouri, e.g.). Ole Miss took a C-USA coach after they fired their Sunbelt coach.

Where was Indiana supposed to find its coaches if not from low level leagues? ACC or Big 12 sitting head coaches because the Big 10 is a higher league?

Indianas former coaches have usually always been coordinators, retreads or NFL guys... they have hired 1 head coach from another school since 1984. Cignetti gambled on Indiana and Indiana gambled on Cignetti.
