“All in all, it was an underwhelming win. I left this one feeling better about Nussmeier’s health but less encouraged about his decision-making. I feel slightly better about the run game, but the offensive line remains a major concern. We’ll have much more to say about all that in our weekly grades, but for now, I’m going to enjoy the fact that LSU is 5-1 with all of its goals within reach, knowing quite well that this team will have to play much better to achieve them.”

Pretty spot on. Two TOs inside the 10 yard line. The players have to execute.

Sounds like they need coaching.

Honestly I don’t pay attention to his “limp” he seems to do it every time he is touched.

The decision making is the big WTF for myself with Nuss. When he has time he usually just goes to his first read even if he is covered or there is nothing there he doesn’t go through his progressions hardly at all. Last night I saw him throw a one yard pass he didn’t even scan the field to see if anything else was there even though he had no pressure. Obviously running from Nuss is basically out of the question too. He just makes it so easy for the defense because there is nothing to worry about running the ball.

Nuss is very very very sensitive at many different levels.

I think its just been a matter of prep for MVB, he gets a series (at least) against Vandy.

But it won’t

We are the worst 5-1 team in SEC history - just ask the rant

It’s as frustrating as the Miles teams when they had cadavers as qb’s

Sounds like they need to bench Nuss for a few series.

Absolutely.

5-1 should land us in the top 10 this week given the number of other top teams that lost.

The good news is that college football this year is wide open. It would appear that Ohio State and Miami are the only teams truly dominating.

Just get to the playoffs. Anything can happen.

Nuss is one unique QB. He’s the only guy I’ve seen who limps badly every time he hits the ground. He looks like he needs a stretcher when his body touches grass. Somehow he looks healthier? LOL, it’s ironic that someone who is constantly limping is healthier. He did throw the ball better.

For the first decade he was our coach, no one not named Alabama pushed us around the way this team is. S&C appears poor, some say it’s technique on the OL, all I see is large men being shoved backwards constantly by much smaller men.

Completely spot on! On the INT in the end zone, the announcer said you have to read the safety and he didn’t. Ball should have gone to 12 and he threw it inside. On the first possession, he had 2 guys running across the middle that were open and never even looked their way. He doesn’t scan the field and at the same time, makes poor decisions. It’s frustrating because he has talent. I think all of this points to one thing: lack of preparation. I don’t think he has put in the time that Daniels or Burrow did and it shows. Mike Scarborough had a report about this and I think he is right. Nuss’ decision making frustrations are due to lack of preparation more than anything else.

The issue is people not having realistic expectations with this team. Even what you’re quoting “LSU well within their goals” this team is not a Championship Caliber team. Be happy with the wins but thinking this team is going to realistically compete for a Playoff berth is setting yourself up for failure. This team will compete and be in close games but they are way too inconsistent and don’t do anything “great” to overcome or hide the deficiencies.

I thought after he threw the interception at the endzone, MVP should have gotten a series.
