AI bots won’t cost near as much and they’ll always write glowing reviews on Glassdoor

If I was pulling six figures to sit through 3 standups and push code once a week, quitting would definitely be a slow process

It would be extremely hard for me to deal with the liberal folks that work there.

I would be fine for a while but it would start to get miserable after a while

With cost of living adjustments E9 is the same as a substitute teacher in Ville Platte

This is basically minimum wage in silicon valley. The OT would even say this is barely scraping by in south Louisiana.

This may be a dumb question but what do each of those levels do?

What does the mid level engineer do the entry guy can’t? Or the next level up?

What's wild, is that the product that they have commoditized is not you, as humans have always been a commodity, but it's your information - it's the YOU, you.

And what even more wild, is that we do the work for them and for their algorithms.

Genius business move.

As a retiree and non-engineer, I am also curious about these jobs.

AU is coming; in 5 years they will need 50% of those jobs.
It’s funny how the people who push the AI will be most harmed

I’ve hired engineers away from facebook. I’ve had two engineers quit our company to work at facebook, then return within three years. But they weren’t software engineers, and they did not make the kind of money that chart would indicate for their experience level.

That E7 pay might be just enough to afford a 3/2 rental in silicon valley.
