Dem are winning the shutdown fight

The GOP have a couple things going against them in this fight. And we should see it as a fight with the radical left.
A) Many on the right don't care. The GOP are typically the ones who shut down the Gov., so having it shut down now is no big deal.
B) The media have done a great job of making the dispute about keeping ACA tax cuts when in fact what the Dems are asking for is to roll back the BBB, fund NPR and fund the agencies that fund many leftwing nonprofits. Oh, and make Trumps OBM unable to make any cuts going forward.
C) The issue for the left is based on TDS and draws on the emotional support of the leftist despite their being hurt by the shutdown, while the right see it as a dispute over taxes and are not engaged passionately as they don't see it as part of the culture war. Dem senators are much more likely to get support to keep the shutdown going than Rep senators are in being asked to hold the line.
We'd better wake up on what's going on with this. We'll end up with many of the things that are key to the Trump agenda being wiped away in a few votes.

Everything I've seen is "nobody cares"... and a few people wondering what the hell the government even does that it can shut down over a week and their absence affects so few people.

Yep, I've seen a ton of polls that are blaming Republicans. Not that anyone believes polling anymore. So all we are really left with is "Feelings".

If the shutdown predominately hurts the healthcare of those here illegally, I'm 100 percent ok with that and keeping it shutdown for a good long time.

The left cares. They see this a big battle about controlling Trumps agenda.
They also know what's at stake. The return of funding to the nonprofits that are key to their organizing and way of life.

I just hope it's resolved before the end of the month. Got a flight I need to be on.
Other than that, the shutdown hasn't affected me in any way. This is definitely hurting the Dems way more. Govt employees are about to start missing paychecks and the vast majority of them are Dem voters. Tying this shutdown to extended subsidies for Obamacare policies is just dumb, and the average person doesn't give a shite about that.

You could not scream, “I only read right wing stuff!” any louder.
Early returns on polling are a little worrying for Republicans, but much of that could be fake news from MSM. It will become clearer in another week or so.

Good luck to them... they aren't going to control shite. And voters everywhere, even some blue ones, are fine with that.
What you don't seem to understand is that whatever anyone thinks of Trump or his agenda, ALL people are tired of democrats... they have really and truly shite the bed.

It won’t be affected one way or the other.

Is there a single poll that shows Democrats have the majority of the blame? I haven't been able to find one.

I don’t know.

If federal workers are fired and no illegals are allowed Medicaid, technically we’re all winning the shutdown

Yeah, so? My news gathering is typically limited to here, local and twitchy. X too... I occasionally read NPR for laughs.
The local and NPR stuff I've read doesn't really resonate with me because I don't care a whole lot about a clinic in Africa or some harm reduction place losing funding for crack pipes.

negatory. the democrats are not 'winning' the shut down. Hakeem BEGGED the R's to return to fund the military on the 15th. the R's offered just this before shutdown the Ds refused.
Shutdown Schumer is taking serious heat for holding out for the 18th or something for the no kings protest to make better headlines.
no one is this stupid anymore.
