If Nuss comes out slinging (accurately and with velocity), we are actually TRYING to run the ball, and we’re up 14+ at the half, we’ll know this team has a shot.

If Nuss looks like he did against ole miss and the run game is still non existent, congrats we just punched our ticket to the Pantene Smooth Skin Bowl.

Agree 100%, this is the “No more excuses game”
When it’s over, this team is what it is.

It would be the most LSU thing ever if the run blocking/running game looked great the next two weeks and then they reverted back to subpar the rest of the season and left us all scratching our heads.

I dont think so. Not at halftime anyway. So far we have shown to be a better 2nd half team. I say lets let the game play out and see hat we look like at the end. We will know what the rest of the season will look like when the game clock is at zero saturday night

i would say the first series or two should show us the truth on nuss, then how the gameplan is handled from there may be better indication

You still haven’t told us how the season will end in this scenario

This is year four of BK. We know how this goes.

LSU will beat USCe, then likely lose three straight to Vandy, aTm, and Bama. One of these will be the annual blow out.

Then we win out, win a shite bowl, and the excuses start for year five.

and not RPO's. Just call a running play so the line knows they have to block for a running back and not guess at whether to run block or pass block.

I would say the first play me. Nah bout all dis waitin a whole drive or half dats crazy tal.

First offensive play. TD and we should go all the way to the NC. Explosive 20+ yd play then we’ll be able to hang with Bama, still finish 9-3 and just miss playoff again. Incomplete pass, run the ball right up the asses of the OL… hello 6-6 and unemployment line for Sloan

This season’s team is a game to game team. Not one single game will define how we continue to play throughout the season.

Nice first post

But if Nuss looks like he did against ole miss at half time, MVB will start the 3rd quarter

AFTER this Saturday's game, we will certainly have a good idea. Baker has been pretty damn good at making halftime adjustments. The offense has to do their fricking job!

We already do. I think it’s fair to say you know what you have after the first 5 games. This team has a lot wrong on offense from QB play/decision making, OL weakness, and poor OC. There also appears to be a lack of leadership from the outside looking in.

I’d love to be wrong but I trust me eyes and they aren’t seeing a well run offense.

Oh, screw all that.

I'm going to enjoy the rest of this season- every damn weekend- no matter what the Enjoyment Advisors say I should do.

I think that is the point the OP is making. If LSU's offense is, again, predictable and ineffective in the 1st half, then we'll know the staff didn't make any adjustments during a bye week to try to fix the issues...which likely means more of the same for the rest of the season. The "same" which has already led to one loss.

Your first 10-15 "scripted" plays are supposed to be your best plays. The things you are most confident you'll have success with. LSU has been HORRIBLE on opening drives with Sloan as OC. Even last year. This season, in 5 games, they've gained a TOTAL of 62 yards on 5 drives. Punted four times and thrown one INT. The "best" drive was the opening drive vs. Clemson. But even that was almost a matter of mere luck. The play call itself sucked and was poorly executed. Clemson completely blew it up and should have had a TFL if not for Durham making a great individual play to break a tackle.

Idk. Even if Nuss is finally healthy its still going to take some time to get his timing back with the WRs and his confidence back. He's been scared to take hits and it'll likely he a few weeks before he quits trying to protect his injury. Plus we prob won't have Anderson saturday
